Examine with us five Bible passages that illuminate the grandeur of this preliminary chapter:
"Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord: 'I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously.' He threw the horse and its rider into the sea."
The song of Moses after the deliverance from Egypt parallels the "song of Moses" in Revelation 15:3.
"He who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals his thoughts to man, who turns the dawn into darkness and treads the high places of the earth—the LORD, the God of hosts, is his name. »
This statement about God's power is similar to the praises in Revelation 15:3-4.
"Who will not fear you, O King of the nations? This is your due. Among all the wise men of the nations and in all their kingdoms, there is none like you. »
This verse about the fear of God is echoed in Revelation 15:4.
"Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud was above it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. »
This description of God's glory in the tabernacle is similar to the scene in Revelation 15:8.
"If you remain hostile to me and do not listen to me, I will bring seven times more plagues on you, according to your sins. »
This warning about divine judgments in Leviticus is reflected in the "seven plagues" mentioned in Revelation 15:1.
By meditating on these passages, we can better understand the depth and scope of the messages contained in Revelation 15, and thus strengthen our faith in divine justice.
